Nunzio Merola
Born near some of Italy’s most remarkable Greek ruins, Nunzio was raised with a love for Mediterranean food & culture. Over the years, he has represented leading food distributors & manufacturers, both domestically & internationally and developed lifelong relationships rooted in trust and integrity.

Who is Nunzio Merola?
Nunzio Merola was born in Paestum, a historic town in the province of Salerno, Italy. The campania region is renowned as the epicenter of world-class Mozzarella di Bufala. In the early 1960s, he immigrated to the United States with his family through the Port of New York and was raised in Far Hills, New Jersey. A trilingual Italian food professional with more than 30 years of progressive experience, Nunzio has worked across multiple facets of the foodservice and retail industries. His career includes impactful roles at various broadline and independent distributors, where he served as Dairy Merchandiser, Hispanic Segment Manager, and most recently as Regional Italian Specialist for the North Florida Region.
Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his extensive product knowledge, cultural fluency, strategic sales leadership, and customer-focused approach. Outside of his professional life, Nunzio’s greatest passions are his family—his wife Janny; daughter Alyssa; sons Nikolas and Brian (Class of 2023, United States Military Academy). When he is not volunteering for local animal shelters, he enjoys playing racquetball, making fresh mozzarella, teaching and sharing his culinary and industry experiences with others.
Serving his country
Nunzio proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Medical Laboratory Technician, an experience that instilled discipline, precision and a strong commitment to service.
